Malvern Spring Show – Show Garden
To celebrate the company’s 50th Anniversary we designed and built our own show garden at this year’s Malvern Spring Festival. We were awarded a Silver-Gilt by the RHS judges and also won the People’s Choice Award.
Our garden, “The Cotswold Way”, was designed by Amy Perkins to represent the company’s journey through the last 50 years from agriculture and forestry to our current profile, building gardens in small courtyards to those of large country houses.
The garden was inspired by local scenery and architecture, with agricultural buildings, timber cladding and curving dry stone walls and fence. A water feature taking rain water through a filter bed, on the roof of the building, into a waterfall trained down a number of chains into pond has also been included.
The sculpture was designed and made using parts from old agricultural machinery and makes an interesting, and relevant, focal point within the planting.
We are very grateful to the following for their contributions to our Show Garden: Cotswold Stone Quarries, Naunton – walling stone; Ermin (Plant Hire Services) Ltd, Cirencester – tool hire; Haileywood Sawmill Ltd, Cirencester – oak posts and seat top; Kingsdown Nurseries, Swindon – plants; Landscapeplus, Crudwell – water pump; Nature First Ltd, Gloucester – mature trees; PB Safety Supplies, Gloucester – workwear and safety equipment and Rowntree Partnership Ltd, Gloucester – building structural design.
