Cotswold Estates and Gardens Ltd have the necessary skills and experience to produce high quality lawns, grass games surfaces and other grass areas, also to re-instate, renovate or maintain them.
Key to the provision of a successful lawn is the soil, accurate formation, final grading, cultivation and consolidation commensurate with the use to which the area is to be put, with prior installation of any drainage or irrigation requirements. This is followed by application of pre-seed/turf fertiliser application (not required for Wildflower areas), and the selection of appropriate grass seed or turf to provide the final surface.
Any imported special soil/growing media or soil ameliorants are usually incorporated between formation and cultivation stages.
Specialist turf or seed mixtures can be selected to best suit soil, environmental conditions or intended use criteria. Wildflowers either as seed or plug plants can be used to produce wildflower areas, on appropriate soils, along with less vigorous grass mixtures.
Lawn edgings in timber, metal, natural stone or concrete provide a crisp edge to the grass area where it doesn’t meet a hard surface. Mowing strips of gravel or paving units facilitate mowing against walls of around other obstructions.
